Mint Hill, NC — The Armed Forces Museum & Archives of the Carolinas will hold an Hawaiian Luau Benefit Show and dinner on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Kerr Recreational Center (Philadelphia Presbyterian Church) at 11503 Bain School Road. Dinner at 6 p.m. will be followed by the 7 p.m. music show hosted by WSOC-FM DJ Rob Tanner. The event will feature the high-energy music of the Tsunami Wave Riders, performing beach and tropical songs from Jimmy Buffet, the Beach Boys, the Ventures, Van Morrison, Don Ho, Elvis' Blue Hawaii, and others.
All profits from the luau go toward the building of the Armed Forces Museum to be constructed beside the Korean War Vets Memorial in Mint Hill Park on Fairview.
Many local merchants have made door prizes and silent auction items available for this event.

When completed, the Armed Forces Museum will be unique in that it will honor all five branches of the United States military: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Visitors will experience an educational showcase of 250 years of military history combined with the home front support and sacrifices that have made our nation great.
